Club Teams

Thank you for your interest in joining the Squamish Volleyball Club community. We operate in the Sea to Sky Corridor and aim to provide an outlet for fun physical, social, and athletic activity for youth through their passion for volleyball.  Our vision is for every athlete to enjoy opportunities to play volleyball and strive towards excellence as a team member and player, all while growing their love for the sport.  Our athletes will develop foundational volleyball skills and learn team play at a level that is developmentally appropriate. 

We had a successful 2024 club season, adding U14 Girls and a U18 Whistler team.

The Volleyball BC 2025 Club Handbook provides valuable information about the Provincial club season as well as information regarding tryout and club season processes.

Age Groups

  • U14 Girls – athletes born between Sept 1, 2010 - Dec 31, 2011 (Gr.8/9)
  • U15 Girls – athletes born between Sept 1, 2009 - Dec 31, 2010 (Gr.9/10)
  • U16 Girls – athletes born between Sept 1, 2008 - Dec 31, 2009 (Gr.10/11)
  • U18 Girls – athletes born between Sept 1, 2006 - Dec 31, 2008 (Gr.11/12)

Club Season

The club volleyball season runs from January to the beginning of May, and includes a number of weekend tournaments (including Provincial Championships, and optionally National Championships).

Tryout selections take place starting at the end of November through early December depending on the age group.

Club fees vary from year to year depending on age group and planned tournament participation. Squamish Volleyball Club fees include:

  • all tournament entry fees (excluding Nationals)
  • athlete accommodation for overnight away tournaments
  • uniform, warm-up shirt, backpack
  • gym rentals and equipment
  • administration fees (accounting, legal fees, honorariums)
  • costs for volunteer coaches (education, criminal record checks, expense reimbursements)

Teams are encouraged to participate in fundraising efforts to help reduce costs.

All athletes that participate on a club team are required to sign a Family and Athlete Agreement with the club.

Tryout Overview

All athletes must register ahead of time for our club tryouts.  No walk-ins will be permitted to try out. 

The cost of tryouts is $43 (non-refundable).  Athlete attend the tryout for their appropriate age group.  Attendance at tryouts is mandatory in order to be selected as a player for our club.  Athletes must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to tryouts to complete the registration process.  We will take photos of all athletes at this time for management purposes.  After the tryouts, final decisions regarding team selection will take place.  

Club Offer Deadlines

Clubs offer positions on the team through a formal process. Based on tryouts, offers will be sent to players. The player has a time limit on making a decision on whether to accept or decline the offer. (This gives players time to consider competing offers from other clubs.)

Athletes can formally accept a position with the club on or before the Offer Signing Date:

  • 14U – November 25, 2024
  • 15U – December 2, 2024
  • 16/17U/18U – December 9, 2024

After the deadline expires, the club is free to make other offers, however, offers after the above dates are only valid for 24 hours.
